Laundry Soap Update

Remember

post I did back in November of last year?

FYI--I really liked my homemade laundry soap. It cost me around $3 a batch (I make 5 batches at a time). Those 5 batches lasted about 7 months!

I recently made 5 more batches...

D advises to Do things "commercially" when necessary. For example, if for some reason your laundry is the size of Mt. Everest, or so it seems, due to coming have from a camping trip, or an epidemic of stomach flu in the house, or just plain getting behind in your work, bundle everything up and take it to a commercial laundry where you can get it done in a couple of hours. This could be worth the ten dollars in quarters it costs.

Summer is winding down...School starts in a week. I'm ready, the husband is ready, the kids are ready (don't ask them, they'll deny it), and my house is ready for a schedule.

Stay tuned for a fun Fall project I'm starting next month--I'm calling it
The BFF Project!
More details to come!

  1. So I've been making the liquid version of this soap. Does the laundry really get clean with only 1 TBS. of soap? I have a jumbo sized washer, so I usually have 1 1/2-2 regular sized loads in it. Do you do loads that big??

  2. He Les! Yes, I do big loads and for those I put in closer to 2 TBS. I'm not sure if it really needs it but I feel better putting more in. For regular loads I always just do 1 TBS and everything comes out clean (crazy, I know). Congrats on the teaching job! You'll do awesome!
