The Little Girls Room

I usually leave the girls to do the cleaning...until I can't stand it anymore...then I clean it out myself. It's a never ending cycle.
I may or may not swear a time or two as I chuck treasure after treasure, and reorganize all the bins that can not seem to stay organized for more than a day or two.
I usually clean it out all at once but I decided to try doing one section each day this week. I also promised myself I would not swear, at least out loud anyway.
BEFORE...

It makes perfect sense that the cars and Woody would be stored with the Polly's.

No tools were needed today but underneath all the coloring books and paper I found these...

A disaster waiting to happen with my 18 month old who has just learned to write on the walls with crayon and then tries to wash her hands in the toilet. She's OBSESSED with the toilet. I'm way too old for this.

THE PROCEDURE
A lot of sorting, a lot of chucking and a lot of relocating.
AFTER...

I pondered this advice from D as I began cleaning the girl's room...
Imagine yourself as a patient, understanding, wonderful mother whose children feel very close to you and who are responding well to your love and influence. In your mind, practice everything such a mother would do and say.
I did pretty well at being patient and understanding when I found a bunch of homework the 8 year old never completed and shoved in between her coloring books. And I'm proud to say I kept my promise and did not swear out loud!
